ASU to honor Pat Tillman during Thursday night game

It's a throwback Thursday for Arizona State University's football team. They're taking on the Oregon Ducks in Tempe, and players will be wearing special uniforms paying tribute to former ASU player Pat Tillman.

Tillman was killed in combat fighting in Afghanistan in 2004. Before his time with the Arizona Cardinals and the U.S. Army, Tillman played for ASU in the 90's. Last week ASU announced the team would be wearing special camouflage cleats to honor #42, now they say the entire uniform will be a tribute to Tillman.

The uniforms pay homage to the 1996 season when Tillman played, each nameplate reads Tillman, PT-42 crest is on each uniform. Underneath the uniform is a camo shirt with Tillman on the front and a quote from Tillman on the back.

ADIDAS says a portion of the proceeds from the uniforms will go to the Pat Tillman Foundation. The Salute to Service game gets underway at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Sun Devil Stadium.
