Authorities looking into whether indecent exposure and sexual assault incidents are related

Police in Mesa and Tempe are looking into whether three incidents of indecent exposure and a sexual assault incident are connected.

The suspect in the Tempe indecent exposure cases is accused of exposing himself and touching himself in various businesses, in three separate incidents. According to Tempe Police, two of the incidents happened on August 14, and the third incident happened on August 15.

The man was caught on surveillance cameras in the stores where the incident happened. One video from a retail store at the Tempe Marketplace shows the man leaving a store. Investigators said before the suspect left, he was committing an indecent sexual act inside the store.

The incidents on August 14, according to police, happened at a store on the 800 block of E. Guadalupe Road, and a store on the 1300 block of W. Elliot Road.

The incident in Mesa reportedly happened at Dobson Ranch. The incident was reported, two hours after the suspect in the Tempe incident left Tempe Marketplace. A woman says a man matching this description exposed himself, and grabbed her in her genitals before he took off.

Anyone with information should call Tempe or Mesa Police.
