Avondale family trying to bounce back after fire destroyed their home

AVONDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- Christmas is just one week away, and a family of five in Avondale lost everything they own in a house fire just days ago.

One person suffered serious burns in the fire, and now, the family is trying o bound back from the tough time.

Felisha Ramirez has lived in the home since childhood, and on Friday a fire ripped through the home, destroying nearly everything. Luckily, everyone was able to get out, but Felisha's brother, who is disabled, suffered severe burns and is still in the hospital.

The family is now staying in an RV temporarily. Ramirez says the situation would be unfortunate at any time, but happening so close to Christmas is more of a hardship.

FOX 10's Danielle Miller reports.
