Ban ASU's Sparky petition pulled by organizer.
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - There are petitions for just about everything online, but one was seeking to ban Sparky, the ASU Mascot.
Titled "Ban Arizona State University from using Satan as its mascot" it garnered hundreds of signatures before the organizer posted that it was a joke.
The petition is quoted as saying "The world will be a better place when all images of Satan, including the 'Sun Devil' mascot and symbol are eliminated."
The petition had called for the Arizona Board of Regents to ban ASU from using the devil mascot.
Organizer Josh Miller posted that when the petition hit local media he "knew it was time to take it down."
