There is another report of bedbugs making their way into a Phoenix movie theater.
It is not the first time this has happened at a movie theater, and in this particular incident, the mother isn't thrilled with the lack of communication from the theater involved.
The mother, who did not want to be identified on camera, said her family went to an afternoon showing of Paddington Bear at the Harkins Theatres at Christown Mall. During the course of the movie, she said her kids started itching inside the theater, and it was only after the movie that they put their heads together and figured out what it was.
The woman said the theater was not dirty. The seats were in good condition, the lobby was tidy, and cleaners were ready to go in, once the movie was over. While the woman said she was thankful that they discovered the problem before they arrived home, which could have made the problem worse, she said it was disappointing for her kids.
"I feel bad for the kids," said the woman. "They go to the movies having fun and they're coming back and they're itching and wondering what's going on here. It sucks for them. That's what they like to do, especially in the summertime. We would go to the movies for sure. We're not going to that movie theater no more."
The woman said she did receive a full refund on the tickets to the movie, but wanted to spread awareness around the Valley.
Meanwhile, officials with Harkins issued a statement on the incident:
"After thorough professional investigation, we did not find any pest concerns. However, we continue to maintain robust maintenance systems and remain vigilant in our efforts to deliver Ultimate Moviegoing in all aspects of the cinema experience."
