Bernie Sanders coming to the valley for campaign event

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is holding a rally in Phoenix on Tuesday as the White House campaign shifts to Arizona.

Sanders will be in Arizona on a crucial day for his campaign as he tries to win primaries in Ohio, Florida and other key states. Arizona's primary is the main event for both parties on the following Tuesday.

Sanders' wife, Jane, is getting a head-start on her husband in the pursuit of Arizona votes. On Sunday, she visited a campground near a proposed copper mine site that Apache tribal members vehemently oppose because they consider it sacred ground. She is meeting Monday with families of immigrants outside Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Tent City jail.

According to Sanders' campaign website, the "Super Tuesday Future to Believe in Phoenix Rally" will be free and open to the public.
