Blizzard warnings prompt flight cancellations

A large winter storm is expected to bring cooler weather, snow, and rain to the east coast. The storm is expected to impact the Carolinas as well, as American Airlines has canceled the bulk of its flights in the northeast Friday. That includes over 650 flights at it's Charlotte Hub.

That could create a backlog for travelers heading there for the Cardinals game on Sunday.

American and Southwest airlines have canceled flights into and out of their east coast hubs. Many fans are flying in Saturday, and they say neither wind, rain, sleet, or snow will stop them from getting to the game.

It's too bad Arizona Cardinals fans cannot bring some of the sunshine from the state with them to Charlotte. Parts of the east coast are under a blizzard warning.

A state of emergency has been declared in North Carolina, ahead of the winter storm that is expected to bring crippling ice and snow.

A Panthers Pride rally that was planned for Friday was canceled because of the weather.

FOX 10's Nicole Garcia went to Sky Harbor Airport and has this report on fans traveling to the big game.
