BUCKEYE, Ariz. (KSAZ)
A boy in Buckeye is on a long journey of recovery. He is had multiple brain surgeries and will soon need to have another one.
So to lift his spirits the Buckeye Fire Department stopped by his home with a special surprise.
When Jaden McMurray walked outside Wednesday morning he was not expecting to see a fire truck in front of his home.
"With what he was going through just a little visit checking out the fire truck would like she said hopefully make his day."
Jaden is not your typical teenager entering his sophomore year of high school.
"He was born with craniosynostosis which is the closing of the skull so he was born with a completely hard head."
So far Jaden has had four brain surgeries and the recovery is not easy.
"We have to crack it twice a day, turn the screws every morning and every night to break the skull apart for the next four months."
So to get his mind off his recovery the Buckeye Fire Department stopped by to give Jaden and his family a tour of one of their fire trucks.
"It was cool with him saying what everybody does and what the captain does and all the dispatching and they showed me all the calls that are going on today."
"I've never been inside a fire truck before. I just love this."
And then the firefighters took this teen around the block.
"He just had his screws turned this morning and so he's got that headache and it completely takes everything away cause now he's focused on the truck."
An act of kindness his family will not forget.
Jaden will have to have another surgery soon.
