Breaking it Down: Election 2016 - Cruz control

- You may not have heard much about Ted Cruz, but you’re going to. The Republican firebrand senator from Texas is quietly maneuvering his way to the top of the field in the Iowa Caucus. He has a lot of support among evangelical Christian voters -- and that’s over half of the GOP voters in Iowa.

A lot of Republican leaders hate his guts, but Cruz has made his name as an insider-outsider in the U.S. Senate and he has his own power base.

Donald Trump, of course, has his own power base as well.

Let’s assume Marco Rubio becomes the favorite of the GOP establishment. So, we have a three-way race shaping up between Trump, Cruz and Rubio. It could go on like this for months. We are entering uncharted territory here.
