Buckeye Police K-9 retiring after eight years of service

BUCKEYE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - On Wednesday night, Buckeye is honoring one of its SWAT officers with a retirement ceremony to be streamed on the web.

The department is honoring K-9 officer Cido, who is retiring after eight years of service. The Belgian Malinois has been with his partner, officer David Smith, since day one.

Not only is Cido trained in locating illegal substances, he also assists in suspect location and apprehension. After Wednesday night, Cido will be able to kick back and relax, and he won't leave Officer Smith either, as he will be staying with him, as a full time member of the Smith family.
