Busy travel day in the valley

People are heading home following a busy weekend with family for Thanksgiving. From the ground to the skies, an estimated 47 million americans are traveling for the holiday weekend, according to AAA.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving which is today is considered one of the busiest travel days of the entire holiday season. Among those crowds, 36 million will be heading to the airport. Phoenix Sky Harbor says there will be a lot of traffic today as people are dropping off passengers.

They're advising everybody to use the Phoenix Sky Train at 44th Street and Washington. They are allow two hours of free parking if you use that train anytime until December 1.

If you are flying today, there are some tips that you can make your travel a little easier. Make sure to arrive two hours before your flight departs. You can check your bag early for those service flying American Airlines, Southwest or United to check your bags before boarding the Phoenix Sky Train. You can print your boarding pass before arriving at terminal. stay connected with your airlines for any kind of updates, delays or gate changes.
