Car crashes into 3-story building in Scottsdale

- A car crash in Scottsdale Wednesday sent one driver barreling into a nearby office, and coming out on the other side of that same office.

Amazing, no one was seriously hurt.

According to the Scottsdale Fire Department, the three-vehicle crash happened near Via de Ventura and Hayden Road.

According to Scottsdale Police, a Lamborghini car collided with a Hyundai car at the intersection of Via De Ventura and Via De Negocio. The Hyundai car driver then peeled northbound on the wrong side of traffic, and hit a Mercedes that was stopped at the light.

"We work right around the corner here, and we heard the fire trucks and the helicopters, but didn't really know what had happened," said Blaine Human, who works in a building near the accident scene.

By the time Human had a chance to run outside and look at the scene, the Hyundai car had jumped the sidewalk curb, crossed the lawn, and crashed straight through the office.

"There were people in the building and they were pretty shook up, but there wasn't anybody, fortunately, right in that office," said Sgt. Bryan Thomas with Scottsdale Police.

The car, according to Sgt. Thomas, flew out the north facing window and plowed down a stop sign, before finally stopping beneath a pedestrian bridge.

"It doesn't appear there was any structural damage to the building itself, and luckily the driver of the car going through the building was okay as well," said Sgt. Thomas.

No one was seriously injured, but for the damages to the cars involved, that's another story.

"It's insane," said Human. "I mean the, Lamborghini in particular. That car is probably ruined, but I can't imagine what it's going to cost to fix that thing."

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
