Car crashes through Phoenix home; police suspect impairment

Phoenix firefighters say a home suffered significant damage, after a car reportedly slammed into the home Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, the incident took place on the 2000 block of E. Grenadine. Cpt. Jake Van Hook said no one was home at the time of the accident, but firefighters had to cordon off certain sections of the home.

According to police, the driver, identified as 23-year-old Herman Loredo, was captured a short distance away from the scene, and was taken to the hospital for evaluation and released.

He's since been booked into jail on charges of leaving the scene of a collision, driving while impaired and excessive speed.
