Cards fans ready for red-white practice to take place Saturday

It is almost that time of year, football season, more specifically it is time for Arizona Cardinals games.

Players and fans are gearing up for last practice before the pre-season begins, the red and white practice happens Saturday.

Mike and Jackie Taylor are visiting from Chicago, one of their stops is the University of Phoenix Stadium.

"It's an unbelievable thing, you're retracted in, we don't have that in Chicago," said Mike Taylor.

Even though they cheer on the Bears, these fans stopped by to admire the retractable field, and gear up for game time, just like members of the Cardinals Football team who arrived at the stadium.

"I have never been, I would like to go, a lot of our friends have gone and gotten autographs from the players, it's really cool," said Jackie Taylor.

"The closer you get to that first pre-season game, the more intense it gets from that standpoint, things are set up like a normal game day," said John Drum.

Drum is the Vice President of Stadium Operations for the stadium; he says this weekend's Red and White Practice is as close to a game day experience as you can get during training camp. Last year 20,000 people attended. It's not a real game, but fans still need to know a few things.

"From the standpoint of the stadium we will do a general bag check if you need to bring items with you, the concession stands are open, the games will be open for the kids," said Drum.

Drum recommends bringing any items you want autographed as the players will be available after practice. Though the Taylor's probably won't make it to the red and white practice, they know exactly what they would want to be signed.

"Jerseys, hats, whatever, our one friend has a really cute daughter, so she is always on his shoulders, and they always come right over," said Mike Taylor.

Gates one and three open at 1:20 p.m., parking and admission are free.
