CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Man tips over mop bucket before stealing cigarettes

Silent Witness is looking for a man who was caught on camera stealing packs of cigarettes from a convenience store.

According to a statement released Saturday, the incident happened at 1:30 a.m. on December 22, 2017, at a Circle K on the 1900 block of E. Van Buren Street. The suspect was inside the store and acting like he was shopping, but was seen, on surveillance camera, tipping over a mop bucket in an effort to distract the store clerk. The suspect then went behind the counter, and stole packs of cigarettes before fleeing on foot.

The suspect has been identified as a white man, between 20 to 30 years old, six feet tall, and weighing 170 lbs. The suspect, according to police, has brown hair, a beard, and was wearing a striped hoodie at the time of the incident.
