Caught on Camera: Thousands of dollars worth of tools stolen from van

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A valley man is out thousands of dollars in tools, but he's hoping the suspect can be tracked down quickly.

Someone took the tools from the back of his work van and it was all caught on camera.

"Heart dropped.. felt violated.. felt like I'm not safe in my own house," said the victim, who does not want to be identified.

He says the thieves rolled up at round 6:00 a.m. on Sunday to his home near 24th Street and Indian School Road. You can see one man standing watch, while the other uses a crowbar to break into the back of the local air conditioning company van.

Little did they know, multiple cameras around the house were recording their every move.

In two minutes, the suspects loaded up a green, older model Dodge Durango and took off from the scene.

"They were in and out in two minutes -- and they grabbed everything that was over $200 and that was in about three or four trips."

He says they seem to know exactly what they're going for -- green canisters of freon are worth $800 a piece. He estimates they got away with $3,000 worth of his own personal tools and believes they too, an estimated $6,000 worth of equipment from his company.

"I hope these guys are caught."

He's hoping somebody recognizes these guys.

"They're taking tools from hard working people. These tools are not tools you go buy at Home Depot.. you have to pay big bucks for them."
