CBP: Man arrested for trying to smuggle Ritalin across border

NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say a Mexican citizen on his bicycle tried to smuggle Ritalin across the border.

Authorities say the incident happened Wednesday at the Port of Nogales.

The 19-year-old man was held over for a secondary inspection of his bike.

A drug-sniffing dog alerted officers to the presence of drugs.

Officers found more than 100 pills of methylphenidate, also known as Ritalin, in the suspect's pants.

The drugs and the bicycle were seized.

The man has since been arrested and turned over to investigators with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
