Chandler man arrested, accused of luring a minor

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- Officials with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday the arrest of a Chandler man accused of luring a minor.

According to a statement, 31-year-old Miles Valencia was arrested after he drove to a location near Florence. The man allegedly drove to the location to engage in inappropriate sexual acts with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

Valencia, according to the statement, was talking to an undercover detective posing as a minor, and did so via a social media app. The investigator made clear to Valencia that he was speaking with a 14-year-old girl, and eventually, Valencia sent a message suggesting he was willing to perform inappropriate acts on the minor, as well as inappropriate pictures.

Investigators believe Valencia had reached out to other children online. Meanwhile, Valencia is facing several charges, including luring and sexual misconduct-related charges.
