Chandler police: Man arrested, accused of kidnapping and abusing woman

CHANDLER, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Details on a horrific discovery Chandler Police officers made a week ago are now released.

While doing a welfare check, officers said they found a woman tied to a bed, her feet shackled. The woman is believed to be a victim of a kidnapping and violent assault. Police have arrested John Ormond, 41, in connection with the case.

The woman, according to court documents, was found on January 8, at a home on the 1000 block of N. Bogle in Chandler. The woman, according to court documents, was found with a significant head wound, and covered in what appeared to be dried blood.

According to court documents, the victim was taken to the hospital, where she accused Ormond of sexually assaulting her from December 23 to January 8.
