Christmas tree recycling locations in the valley

With presents unwrapped, people in the valley who may be wondering what to do with their Christmas trees can recycle them.

The city of Glendale is encouraging residents to drop off their Christmas tree at several sites, including Acoma Park at 53rd Avenue and Acoma, Foothills Park at Union Hills and 57th Avenue, and Sahuaro Ranch Park at 63rd Avenue and Mountain View Road. Trees can also be dropped off at O'Neil Park at 64th Avenue and Missouri, and Rose Lane Park at 51st Avenue and Marlette.

A valley business is also reportedly offering revelers an opportunity for free tree recycling. A to Z Equipment Rentals & Sales will accept trees at four Phoenix-area locations through Jan. 2, excluding New Year's Day. Trees can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. But only one tree per household will be accepted. All decorations and stands must be removed.

Residents can also haul Christmas trees to the Recycle Phoenix Festival on Saturday at Christown Spectrum Mall. The event will be held in a rear parking lot between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Organizers from Keep Phoenix Beautiful will accept trees as well as Christmas lights and holiday decorations.
