PHOENIX - Crews battled a first-alarm fire in south Phoenix. Along with dusty winds, black smoke filled up the skies. This happened at Harold's Sons Transmissions near Broadway and 19th Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters had to use two ladders to angle the water towards the flames and officials say the wind was not in their favor.
"The wind is not making it easy for us right now, wind fuels the fire and it also pushes it, so we got radiant heat and we've got fire that is jumping into the separate portions of this back lot. We've got cars, scrap metals, flammable liquids.. it's just one of those fires that every time you turn around, there's a new spot fire," said Captain Rob McDade of the Phoenix Fire Department.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
