Crews battling recycling plant fire

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Firefighters are battling a debris fire at a metal recycling plant Thursday afternoon.

According to Phoenix Fire, the blaze broke out at a plant near 35th Avenue and Broadway. Fire officials said there is no immediate word on how the fire started.

Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Rob McDade said it's a defensive fire and crews have water on the main body of the fire and will be protecting any exposures.
