Deceased cyclist honored on Sunday morning

Bicycle riders are gathering together on Sunday morning to pay tribute to a cyclist who was killed at South Mountain Park a week ago.

Cyclist Rob Dollar, 16, was riding down from the top of Summit Trail Road, and was killed when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle is suspected of DUI.

Several hundred cyclists are expected to take part in a memorial ride, prayers and a moment of silence for Dollar on Sunday morning starting at 8am.

They are expected to meet at The Velo in Phoenix, near Roosevelt and 2nd Street, and will then head to South Mountain Park.
