SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) - Rain or shine, these Diamondback diehards could not wait for today.
"Rain in Arizona is a blessing so why wouldn't we enjoy every little bit of it that we can, so a little sprinkles isn't going to stop us from coming out and enjoying a good time," Marcus Bortman said.
A few dozen fans lined up outside the team's headquarters at Salt River Fields this morning, waiting to see some of their favorite players hit the field for the first day of full-squad workouts.
"We're all the way from Tuscon, actually we come out here every year and we don't leave until we get a foul ball for grandchildren," Steve Marietti said.
They say spring training is about the experience and family traditions, and they don't mind the weather, in fact, the more rain, the better.
"We had the day off, so it was good timing so the rain meant no crowds," Bethany Cooper said.
"It's better like this! Less crowds," Jeff Joubert said.
For these superfans, no stormy weather will stand in the way of spring training and their D-backs.
"Oh yeah, every year! We haven't missed since they've been here in the Valley," Bortman said.
