Deadly DUI crash in Chandler overnight

One person was killed and two others hospitalized after a crash involving a DUI suspect in Chandler on Saturday night.

Chandler police have identified the suspect as Kinton Bruce, 27.

Bruce was driving eastbound on Ray Road and ran a couple red lights until he hit a vehicle at the intersection at Price Road.

After the collision, Bruce ran from his vehicle which had rolled several times, and was apprehended about a quarter mile away by a Good Samaritan.

Police quickly caught up with the suspect, who reportedly tried to run off a second time. It was there that police swa signs of alcohol impairment.

Bruce was booked into Maricopa County Jail on one count of manslaughter, hit and run, and two counts of endangerment.

Streets remained shut down near the Loop 101 and Ray on Sunday morning as crews investigated and cleared away the wreckage

The victim who was hit and killed was a female about 56 to 57 years of age. She was tansported to the hospital and died there due to her injuries.

Police are continuing their investigation on Sunday, and crews reopened the area shortly after 7am.
