Loop 101 in Scottsdale reopens following deadly wrong-way crash

Authorities say a driver was killed in a wrong-way crash that closed the Loop 101 in Scottsdale on Friday morning.

On Friday afternoon, the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) identified the river as Rulon Breazer, 29. The crash happened just after midnight on Friday when the wrong-way driver crashed into another vehicle while traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the Loop 101 at Raintree.

Beazer was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

Southbound Loop 101 has reopened from Frank Lloyd Wright to Cactus.
