PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Desert Botanical Gardens is holding a massive plant sale all weekend to kick off gardening season. There are over 30,000 plants to choose from.
"There's a great variety," said Daniel Childers, a spring plant sale shopper. "A lot of different nurseries come and show their plants here that you can buy. Instead of having to go around the Valley, you can just come to one place."
This big selection is the reason why over 300 people win in line at the gates of Desert Botanical Garden for spring sale weekend.
"At first I thought I had to run," said Mitra Samadani," a spring plant sale shopper. "It was like the brides running at the store to grab the gowns, but everybody's so calm."
The giant bi-annual sale holds a variety of cacti, agave, succulents, and ornamental plants for any garden in the Valley. Even pottery, artesian, and several other vendors. And on standby are horticulture experts, helping you find the perfect plant.
"[They're] just helping me with everything," Samadani said. "Which one should I take, what do they do, and how big do they grow and whatever I don't know, I don't have to look things up. I mean I don't have to look it up!"
The gates open on March 17 at 7 a.m. and close at 3 p.m.
