PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Law enforcement arrested a driver for the death of a passenger following a rollover crash.
DPS says just after midnight Sunday a vehicle on the southbound Interstate-17 transition ramp to westbound Interstate-10 left the roadway, rolled and hit a palm tree. Two of the three passengers were ejected. Marcellos Matthews, 21, was pronounced dead on the scene, and another passenger suffered minor injuries.
Troopers arrested the driver, Marquese Matthews, 23, after investigators believed impairment to be a factor in the crash. He was booked for first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and endangerment.
