PHOENIX - Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson is scheduled to be in Phoenix on Saturday to file papers for his presidential candidacy on the Arizona ballot. He will also be speaking at an event in the Valley.
Carson is expected to file his election paperwork in person at 2pm on Saturday at the Arizona Secretary of State's Office. Secretary of State Michele Reagan is expected to be present when Carson arrives.
Carson is scheduled to speak at the Outlook Leadership conference in Scottsdale on Saturday evening. The event is closed to the media. The retired neurosurgeon is also expected to appear in campaign events in Nevada on Sunday.
Carson claimed this week that he would be able to make the U.S.-Mexico border secure in one year if he were elected president.
