Couple arrested after driver smashes into Buckeye Circle K

BUCKEYE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A couple was arrested after smashing into a Buckeye Circle K store on Wednesday night.

Buckeye police say the driver, James Cody Jr., drove into the store on MC 85 near Monroe Avenue late Wednesday night. After the collision happened, Cody left the scene on foot, but he was later arrested at a nearby apartment.

Jessica Randell was also arrested after police discovered there was a baby left alone inside the apartment. The baby has been turned over to DCS.

Police say no one inside the store was hurt, but there is significant damage. The store will be closed until further notice.
