Driver loses control, slams into tree in Ahwatukee

AHWATUKEE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police say a driver lost control of a vehicle before hitting a tree in Ahwatukee early Friday morning.

Phoenix police say at about 3 a.m., a man in his mid-20s struck a tree near 24 Street and Chandler Boulevard. As a result of the crash, eastbound 24th Street was closed on Chandler Boulevard, however, it has re-opened to all traffic.

The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and impairment may have been a factor.
