El Mirage food bank in danger of running out of food

- An El Mirage food bank is in danger of running out of food this summer and is asking for donations, according to the organization's founder.

Valley View Food Bank has been active for eight years and serves around 400 people per day with food boxes containing produce, shelf-stable food and meat, says Jesse Ramirez, director of Valley View.

Ramirez says food boxes have been getting smaller, leading to more visits. Because of their lack of food, Ramirez says the food bank may have to shut down their food box program.

"At the rate we're going, we will be completely out of food within two weeks' time," says Ramirez.

Valley View Food Bank is asking for donations to support their cause. Visit their website to learn more.
