PHOENIX (KSAZ) - The one-time Phoenix Motor Company in Downtown Phoenix is getting a new lease on life.
The building is being turned into "The Van Buren", which will become the Valleys newest entertainment complex. The complex's owner's two other projects, Crescent Ballroom and Valley Bar, are also located in Downtown Phoenix.
The Van Buren has been the big talk in town this past year., and on Wednesday, the music venue is finally opening its doors to the public. The venue's co-owner, Charlie Levy, said locals are excited to see the finish project.
"People are excited. I feel it," said Levy. "I can feel it when I go out at night. When I go to lunch, people come up to me and they're like, 'we can't wait to see a show here,' and that make me happy."
Levy has worked with Live Nation in the past, and said partnering with them on this new venue just made sense, and everyone involved is happy to contribute to the growth of Downtown Phoenix.
"A combo between a ton of people that are working hard together," said Levy. "It's a labor of love I think for everybody and we are all excited to be apart of the downtown fabric, the downtown scene because everyone know that downtown phoenix is boom town right now so it's fun to be in the mix of it.
