FAA: Southwest Airlines flight targeted in laser incident
The FAA confirms a plane landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport was struck by a green laser.
The Southwest Airlines flight was coming in from Tulsa around 6:30 p.m. when the cockpit was illuminated by a laser.
The pilot says his plane was about 4,000 feet in the air when the strike happened. Thankfully no one was hurt and the plane landed safely.
Laser strikes have become a growing problem at airports in the country, the FAA says there have been 180 laser strikes this year.
Phoenix has the second most laser strikes out of any city.
