Family of man shot by police file lawsuit

The family of a man who was shot and killed by a Mesa Police officer is filing a ten million dollar wrongful death lawsuit.

Ivan Krstic's family says back in December he was checking for water leaks under his property near Power and the 202 freeway by tapping the asphalt with a metal pipe.

Police say the officers arrived on scene, and the man refused to drop the pipe.

An officer tased him, and when that didn't work that's when an officer opened fire, but according to the family a witness reported the man did nothing to provoke the shooting.
