Fans send the Cardinals off to Charlotte on a high note

A sea of red.

Hundreds of fans met the Cardinals this morning at the airport, sending them off to Charlotte on a high note.

Fans were decked out and pumped for the rally.

"They're going to win, they're going to win, they're going to win!" said 84-year-old Jane Burton.

She's a big fan of number 11 and knows the Cards have it in them to win it all.

"I just love the Cardinals," she said. "Go Larry, all the way!"

In addition to the rabid fans, we heard from Gov. Doug Ducey during the rally.

"Let's stand behind this team, let them go to Carolina and bring home the NFC Championship and then on to Super Bowl 50!" he said.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton was also there and he agrees with the governor.

"This is Cardinal country, right here, and we are representing hundreds of thousands of Cardinals fans around the world as we root on the best team in the NFL, as they beat the Carolina Panthers tomorrow afternoon!" he said.

Another high-ranking Arizona official was at the rally and had a lot to say.

"A week from tonight, we are going to be back here, as we are going to be rallying again as this team goes to California to win the Super Bowl," Sen. John McCain said.

But the rally wasn't complete until Larry Fitzgerald spoke.

"We truly appreciate the support you guys have shown us, the support throughout the year," he said. "We hope to see you guys here tomorrow night so we can celebrate."

And that's all you need to do is just believe and cheer your heart out.

The Cardinals play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night for the right to go to the Super Bowl. The NFC Championship can be seen on Fox 10 at 4:40 p.m.
