PHOENIX, Ariz. (KSAZ) - The family of a Valley man who was shot and killed, as he was standing in his front door, is speaking out about what happened.
Candles are seen in front of the door where it all happened, which now features two bullet holes. This is where 36-year-old Cutberto Gastelum was killed, by someone who shot through the door.
"I will miss him a lot, we all are," said the victim's wife. She said someone knocked once about 11:00 p.m. Monday night, and then once more. Gastelum then walked up to the door.
"Somebody knocked and shot through the door, he didn't even open the door," said Gastelum's wife. "I couldn't see where he was shot. No blood. The only thing was a hole through his back."
Gastelum died at the hospital, and his wife can't understand why someone would want to kill her husband.
"He loved to go to work. He would come home and spend time with us. No enemies, got along with everyone. He was a family man," said Gastelum's wife.
Gastelum's family is now trying to raise money to bury him. According to Gastelum's wife, he was from Mexico's Sinaloa state. To donate money, click here.
