Fido bag used to save cat found in apartment fire

A FIDO BAG® was used to save a cat who was in respiratory distress after being stuck in a apartment filled with smoke from a small fire.

Mesa Fire department and medics were called to a small apartment fire on Extension Road.

A Mesa firefighter found a cat with its mouth foaming and in obvious respiratory distress in one of the rooms that had been cleared.

The cat was then brought outside and a Fetch Foundation FIDO BAG® was used to give the cat oxygen.

The Fetch Foundation FIDO BAG® is a bag that is designed specifically for first responders to help pets in distress. Fire departments are only equipped with human emergency supplies so their oxygen masks available do not fit an animal's face. The bags are cone-shaped to fit any pet's head.

The cat owners arrived on scene shortly after.

The cat was doing better a few minutes later.
