PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Police say a man and 7-year-old boy have been critically injured in a crash in Phoenix.
According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson with Phoenix police, the crash happened near 35th Avenue and Broadway Road when a Toyota Camry turned left in front of a large utility truck.
Both the 48-year-old driver of the Camry and a boy who was sitting in the front passenger seat were taken to hospitals in critical condition. A 13-year-old girl sitting in the back seat of the car was not seriously injured, but was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, Sgt. Thompson identified the driver of the truck as a 50-year-old man. That man, who was not injured, was evaluated and was found to not be impaired. An investigation is ongoing.
