PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Firefighters say a man is in extremely critical condition after he was apparently hit by a light rail train in Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, a man in his 40s was transported to an area hospital following the accident near 19th Avenue and Montebello.
The man was reportedly walking on the sidewalk parallel to the tracks and was hit while crossing the street.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Armando Carbajal says at least one witness was located and they are looking for surveillance video that might help explain what happened.
North 19th Avenue was closed from West Bethany Home Road to West Missouri Avenue in both directions during the investigation.
