PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Firefighters have freed a man who was trapped in an 18-inch drain pipe in Phoenix.
According to Capt. Danny Gile with the Phoenix Fire Department, the man was stuck in a pipe near 67th Avenue and Indian School.
Firefighters were able to access the nearest manhole to the man and after placing a ladder down it, the man was able to crawl out on his own.
He was not injured.
Firefighters say it's unclear how the man got into the pipe and how long he was in the drainage system.
Phoenix Technical Rescue crews train relentlessly to be prepared for any scenario....today they were faced with a man trapped in a storm drainage system....rescue crews were able to locate the man and place a ladder into a manhole opening and fortunately he was able to climb out under his own power....
