Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio reportedly considering U.S. Senate run

FOX 10 Phoenix has learned that former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is considering a run for the United States Senate.

This week, Arpaio's supporter will receive a letter in the mail, in which he asks for donations to help pay his mounting legal debts. Arpaio, however, insists this is not a fundraising letter for a possible Senate run, saying they are two separate things.

Arpaio told FOX 10's John Hook Thursday night that he is soliciting money for his legal defense, while also asking in the letter that if he were to run for the Senate, would people support him.

Arpaio told Hook Thursday night he is "kicking the idea around".
