Funeral held for Las Vegas crash victim

Loved ones gathered at the funeral for the Arizona woman killed in Las Vegas last week.

Jessica Valenzuela was one of more than 30 people hurt when a driver plowed into pedestrians on the strip.

Hundreds of people have raised nearly $40,000 for the Valenzuela family during this difficult time. The family asked for privacy, but they did want the public to know that they are thankful for the thoughts, prayers, and support.

The online donations made it possible to bring Jessica's body come to Arizona.

"The family wanted me to express how much they've appreciated the love and support they've received from everyone," said attorney Richard Gullette.

Gullette says the family was able to bring the body back to Buckeye where her funeral was held Monday, just one week after the senseless tragedy in Las Vegas.

Jessica was with her husband on the strip when a driver plowed through a crowd injuring dozens.

"They were on the strip celebrating their 10-year anniversary and the next thing they know a car comes plowing through sending people scrambling," he said.

Now the driver 24-year-old Lakeisha Nicole Holloway is facing murder charges; police say the suspect had her toddler with her when she intentionally drove into pedestrians. Investigators do not have a motive, but Valenzuela was the sole person killed.

"They're having a rough time, there is no good time for tragedies, but they are all having a rough time. She was just a loving mother, and they were starting out their family and just bought their new home together and were excited about that," said Gullette.
