GLENDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- Glendale Police officials say a 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting on Saturday that killed a 27-year-old man.
According to a statement released Wednesday afternoon, 20-year-old Eduardo Lugo-Ramos has been booked on charges of second-degree murder, as well as on charges of weapons misconduct and an alleged violation of Shannon's Law.
Glendale Police officials say officers were called out to the 6700 block of W. Bethany Home Road at around 2:27 a.m. on April 6, after a "shot spotter" detected weapons fire. The victim, identified as Jorge "Daniel" Marmolejo-Jurado, was declared dead by firefighters at the scene. A further investigation revealed that Lugo-Ramos had a brief interaction with Marmolejo-Jurado within the parking lot, which ended with Lugo-Ramos firing multiple rounds, striking the victim. Lugo-Ramos then fled the area in a car.
Police officials say during an interview with Lugo-Ramos, he admitted to his involvement in the incident.
