Global travel dining company hopes to fill jobs at Sky Harbor

If you don't recognize the name "HMS Host," you most likely will recognize one of the restaurants the world leader in travel has to offer at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

And that's exactly what candidates say drew them to the job fair today.

"It's time to start working again and get enthusiastic about having a job!" Rosalinda said.

"Oh, I'm looking for a cook position with HMS Hosts," Darlene said. "I have four years experience and I'm looking to expand and upgrade my cooking."

The global hospitality employer says they're looking for more than 50 people to fill full-time positions at airport hot spots, like Starbucks, Chelsea's Kitchen, La Grande Orange, and Sauce Pizza and Wine.

Today, applicants gathered at Aloft Hotel, just next to the airport, in hopes of securing a job with fair wages, benefits, and an opportunity for growth.

Rosalinda says she believes she's got what it takes.

"First, my customer service, and letting everyone know that HMS Host is different and you'll get some good food at the airport," she said.

With resumes in hand, and on-the-spot hiring with first-day incentives, Valley resident Darlene says confidence is key.

"I am totally confident," she said. "I have four years cooking experience and I'm ready to get the job!"
