Good Samaritan attacked on side of highway

Authorities say a Good Samaritan who was trying to help people who had pulled over on the side of the highway when she was robbed and assaulted.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the crime happened off of the Loop 101 and Southern in the southbound lanes.

The victim, a woman in her twenties, was heading home from work and saw people pulled over on the side of the road.

When she pulled over and tried to help them, a man opened her door, a juvenile female got inside the vehicle and struck her in the face. The suspects robbed the victim, taking her cell phone and money.

The four suspects included two younger girls and two men. Police tracked all four suspects at an apartment complex about two to three miles away from the scene.

One of the girls is under the age of eighteen who is a runaway. All four suspects are detained.

Police are not looking for anybody else.

Officers do recommend if you see somebody on the side of the road looking like they need help, it's a better idea to just call 9-1-1 and be safe, rather than trying to help out yourself.
