GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump visits the valley

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump was in Las Vegas on Tuesday for another debate, but on Wednesday morning, Trump spoke in the valley.

Crews at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport spent most of Tuesday prepping for Trump's visit. The rally was held inside a private hangar inside the airport.

Trump's appearance comes hours after the latest GOP debate, as he defends against a crush of criticism over proposing a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S. in the wake of the deadly San Bernardino terrorist attack.

Still, Trump has maintained his lead over the GOP presidential field in recent national polls.

Before Trump took the podium, Sheriff Joe Arpaio is expected to take the microphone and introduce the Republican presidential hopeful. This will be the second time Arpaio has participated in one of Trump's events.
