MESA, Ariz. (KSAZ)
Mesa Police and Fire and a hazardous materials unit rolled up to a hotel near downtown Mesa after they got a report of suspicious chemicals inside one of the rooms.
It all started Wednesday night. Mesa Police say a man was shot in the shoulder and arm near Broadway and Stapley. He wouldn't tell authorities much, but he did tell them to check out a hotel room near Country Club and Southern.
Inside the room they found suspicious chemicals.
Hazardous Materials teams suited up and entered the room at the Studio 6 Extended Stay in Mesa. The parking lot was taken over by emergency crews. Everyone approached the room with caution, fearing it might have been the location of a meth lab.
It took several hours to figure out what the hazmat team was dealing with, but authorities say the chemicals are not used to make meth, but are used to make LSD.
Two people inside the room were taken in for questioning.
