PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Officials with the Maricopa County Department of Transportation are asking drivers to be extra vigilant when driving along Bush Highway, after another report of a horse's death along the highway.
In a brief statement, MCDOT officials say they became aware of the crash that led to the horse's death early Thursday morning. The statement is asking for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions.
MCDOT officials say they are placing portable message boards along the roadway to remind drivers to watch for horses. In addition, the department has installed rumble strips and painted "Watch for Horses" warnings on the roadway, at seven designated horse crossings.
