No serious injuries from hot air balloon's hard landing in Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) -- A hot-air balloon made a hard landing in north Phoenix, but the Fire Department says there are no serious injuries.

Fire Capt. Larry Subervi says about a half-dozen people were on board the balloon when it landed in brush after a rapid descent Monday morning.

He says firefighters at the scene near 30th Avenue and Carefree Highway reported that the balloon's occupants have only minor scratches and that nobody is being transported to a hospital.

Subveri says it's not immediately known what caused the rapid descent.
